Sauna KitsFor the do-it-yourselfer, assembling a sauna from a kit is easy and can be put together in several hours. Some sauna kits are intended for a permanent installation while others are free-standing and as such are more portable. Pre-built sauna kits come in a predetermined size and style. These are the easiest to assemble as they generally come in two or three large pieces that are screwed or locked in place into a free-standing unit. Pre-cut sauna kits come in either stock or custom sizes, and are cheaper to ship as all components are separated. Although not difficult, it is up to you to construct the walls of the sauna from the lumber supplied. Sauna plans are plentiful on the Web. Simply buy a stock sauna plan, which often comes with a list of materials needed to build the sauna, along with heaters, temperature controls, lighting and other specialized components that are needed. These are obviously the most difficult to build but can also be the most rewarding as you are building the exact sauna that YOU want. |
